Bio

Douglas became Executive Director of the Sentencing Commission in April 2025. He joined the Sentencing Commission as its Deputy Director in September 2017; in October 2024 he served as the Acting Director until he was named Executive Director. Before coming to the Commission, he led a nonprofit focused on government ethics in New Mexico and was a staff attorney at the New Mexico Legislature’s Legislative Council Service, working principally in the areas of criminal justice, election law, and government ethics. He has a B.A. from Yale University, an M.Phil. from Trinity College Dublin, and a J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
