- Data Committee: The Data Committee identifies data and research needed to support the Commission’s overall mission and guide the NMSC staff in developing a data infrastructure for the gathering and analysis of all available statewide criminal and juvenile justice related databases.

- Juvenile Committee: The Juvenile Committee will continue to focus on all NM juvenile justice issues. During FY07, the Committee will continue to visit programs and facilities throughout the state and make recommendations to the NMSC as appropriate.

- Legislative Committee: The Legislative Committee operates primarily during the legislative sessions, makes recommendations to the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government on a full range of issues relating to the criminal and juvenile justice systems. The recommendations are based on the best available research, with the goal being to recommend effective, fiscally prudent, and administratively rational solutions.

- Sentencing Reform Committee: The Sentencing Reform Committee focuses on both the short term goal of addressing “anomalies” in existing law and the long range statutory goal of reviewing the entire New Criminal Code and sentencing structure.

- Justice Information Sharing Council (JISC): A statewide criminal and juvenile justice agency team with the mission of enabling efficient and timely sharing of criminal justice data through the use of information technology.
